Bob and Josie Delong kicked off another great year hosting the 3rd annual Ohio River Revival at the Ironton Riverfront on Saturday, September 10th. Of course, so many volunteers and sponsors helped make things possible including Bullseye Total Media, City of Ironton, My Huntington, Third & Center, Armstrong Neighborhood Channel, River Cities Wireless, Press Room Recordings, Rowdy’s Smokehouse, Towneplace Suites, Ironton Puretap, and Granny’s Novelties. Many people showed up throughout the day supporting the awesome bands that performed.
The music kicked off with Drivin’ 23 and different bands of different genres performed throughout the day. Shawn Benfield, Building Rockets, Corduroy Brown, Spooky Fox, Charlie Woods & Deep Hollow, Shelf Life String Band, Jayce Turley & Cardinal Point, String Therapy w/ Paul Wag, Hellnaw, Dark Moon Hollow, Mama Said String Band, Jon Stickley Trio, and the Restless Leg String Band. Food was provided by Fat Boy Q, Funnel Cake Escape, and Viper Wood Fired Oven Pizza. There were also a few shopping vendors, including Dank Stonez, Made by Malea, Lizard Breath Dye, Handcrafted by Holtzapfel, The Mystic Rose, Fiber Artists, Freak Freely, and Twisted Enlightenment.
Bob Delong stated that the main goal is to showcase local talent and local businesses, and how the Ironton Riverfront is an asset to the community. He said he’s from the area as well, so he likes that he’s contributing to making his hometown look better with this music festival and plans to keep it going every year.
