Since this week is National Teacher Appreciation Week, I wanted to share some love for the teachers I had throughout some of my school years. I’ve been out of high school for 10 years now, and it’s hard to believe sometimes. Sometimes I wish I could go back, but looking and thinking back, I honestly wouldn’t change anything. The teachers that you have, they help make you who you are today. Of course I’m thankful for all the teachers I’ve had throughout my life, but there definitely are a few in particular that were my favorites. Everyone has their favorite teachers, and at some point, there’s always going to be that one cute teacher you have a crush on. Yes, I’ve had my fair share of crushing on teachers, but I won’t get into that. There are going to be some teachers that are super strict, and then there’s the teacher who has that happy medium, they’re somewhat strict and cool too. They’ll try to be your friend, but they’ll still go in teacher mode when necessary. I could honestly go on and on about certain teachers and why they were my favorites, but I won’t, because all the teachers I’ve had in my life, were special in their own way. There was one teacher though, I won’t say his name, but he would share quotes on his class door for other students to see, and I loved this quote in particular,
“Sometimes it’s just a form of love to talk to someone you have nothing in common with and still be fascinated by their presence” – David Byrne
You know how you say you love your teachers, but you wouldn’t actually tell them you love them? This quote makes me think of that. Whether you have anything in common with them or not, you’re still fascinated by their presence and enjoy being around them. So I guess, there was one teacher I favored most of all because of that. We both shared a love of writing. Anyway, there’s always going to be those teachers that have had a huge impact on your life, and I’m super thankful for all the teachers I’ve had and helped make me who I am today.
